Children's (Picture Book, Middle Grade & Young Adult) Manuscript Submissions

We accept young adult, middle grade, and picture book manuscripts (with or without illustrations). We ask for the full manuscript with the initial submission. We require a Word document (.doc or .docx). Please use Times New Roman, Cambria or Calibri font at 12pt, left justified, and double space your document. Please insert page breaks before every chapter. Do not use double spaces after periods, and do not include images or any kind of layout or book formatting.

Please note: We do not accept stories intended to cause harm to, or portray hatred of, anyone based on race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, disability or genetic information. We also do not publish books made with Artificial Intelligence.

Submission Guidelines:

Young Adult

• Must be appropriate for readers 13 to 18 years old. 
• Must be no more than 80,000 words.

Middle Grade

• Must be appropriate for readers 8 to 12 years old. 
• Must be no more than 50,000 words.

Picture Book

• Must be appropriate for ages 3 through 7. 
• Must be no longer than 32 pages, and it helps if it adheres to the 32-page spread format found at this link.
• Fiction and nonfiction considered. (Nonfiction books must include works cited and/or research bibliography.)
• May be rhyming or non rhyming.
• If your manuscript needs artwork, we can recommend artists to hire. If already illustrated, the artwork must be done by a professional artist. 
• If already illustrated or laid out with artwork, it must be the appropriate size for picture book printing (i.e., 8.5 x 8.5, 8 x 10, 8.5 x 11, or 11 x 8.5 inches).
